'What I've Been Up To' Post & A New Leaf

Hi! It's been sometime since I last posted. I've been busy finishing up some orders.
Rose(I) pins along with 2 small rose pins with leaves. These pins were ordered by Nana. She's a very loyal customer of mine. Thanks Nana!
And these are Emilia's order. 10 small roses and 10 large rose buds.
15 medium rose buds(5 were not included in pic) and 30 small rose buds.
20 pieces 2-layer small flowers.
40 pieces small flowers(II) on top of 130 pieces of mini leaves. Both orders will be going out tomorrow.

These are a new leaf pattern and in the center is a small rose made with my new multicolored yarn. I'll post about them tomorrow. I'm so excited about them and trying out various patterns to see how they turn out.
I made these chocolate chip cookies a few weeks ago. Hazel wanted big ones so I made them as big as I could. They were yummy! I got the recipe from here.
And lastly, Apam Aiskrim Soda I made last week. They taste like normal cakes though a bit fluffy and are steamed. They were delicious! I got the recipe from the net and if you'd like to make them, here it is:
2 eggs(B)
250gm Caster Sugar
1 tsp Ovalette
150ml Ice-cream Soda
200gm Plain Flour
Food colorings of your choice, papercups, salt(optional) and vanilla essence.
Beat the eggs, vanilla essence, sugar and ovalette until light and fluffy(preferably with an electric mixer). Put in the flour, mix again. Lastly fold in the soda with a wooden spoon.
Divide into several bowls and mix with the food colorings. Pour into papercup lined moulds in layers.
Steam on medium heat for 10 minutes.
If you make them right, you'll be rewarded with smiling apams!
Have a lovely week everyone!

Queen Anne's Lace Scarf

I finally had the time and mood to make this scarf after seeing other fellow crocheters making it. I finished it in about a day using my largest hook. I've taken a pic to show you the difference by using 3 different hook sizes  and 2 kinds of yarns below. You can find the pattern for this scarf here. There are no photos there but you can find lots on raverly.
By using a smaller hook and thread yarn, I made a bookmark using the same pattern. This pattern is really easy. I got the hang of it after the third round. The photos look terrible, I know but it's gloomy here. It has been raining non-stop since last night.
Above are the differences of using 3 hook sizes and 2 types of yarns. I'm sorry but I don't know the hooks' sizes precisely(how ignorant, I know!) but you can do your own experiment to find the out which one you like best.
I even managed to make a mini bow hairclip for Hazel using a pattern by Crochet Spot. She has been pestering me to make one for her since forever! The above pic is the best from more than 10 tries of taking it. She was always moving and at last I asked her to lean on the sofa. That did the trick! I did another bow last month using Paula's pattern. I think I prefer hers because it's done in one go. She has lots of lovely stuff there and some free patterns, too. Do visit her!
Lastly, Hazel and I made these delicious and easy cookies this afternoon. I forgot where I got the recipe from but it uses just 3 main ingredients! It's called Simple Shortbread Cookies. Here's the recipe:
1 cup Butter
1/2 cup Sugar
2 1/2 cup Flour
Jam/Sprinkles
Mix as usual. Roll dough into balls and flatten. With a spoon, indent the center and fill with small amount of jam or just top with sprinkles. (I've tried adding chocolate chips/chopped chocolate, too).
Bake at 300F for 15 minutes.
Have a great weekend everyone!

'What I've Been Up To' Post

I've been meaning to post these photos since last Sunday, but had some problems uploading them. These pins are Nanako's third order from me. Thanks, Nana! 15 pieces of Small Rose pins.
15 pieces of 2-layer flower pins.
20 pieces of mini heart and small flower pins.
And as arranged by Hazel. She called them 'Flowers in the Garden'.
I found a delicious biscuit recipe while blogwalking recently and knew I had to make them! These are Milo Biscuits! We LOVE them! I can't stop munching on them. The first batched were all consumed within a few days and I just made the dough again this morning, awaiting Hazel to come back from school. She loves baking! I find them a bit too sweet for my liking so I've cut down the sugar to 1/2 cup. They taste just like store-bought cookies! Give it a try! The recipe can be found here. Do read all the comments for ideas and suggestions.
Have a great week everyone!
